Well, with the new technologies emerging now, I hope we can say definitively, Yes.

I. Sub theme 3 Promoting gainful employment and enterprise development through the use of existing and emerging technologies

Science and technology can be made to work for the poor by designing systems that utilize conventional science and technologies, such as those of the green revolution, and emerging technologies, such as information and communication technologies and biotechnology.

But I also, in looking at more powerful technologies and nanotechnology and genetic engineering and other new emerging kind of digital technologies, became very concerned about the potential for abuse.

I characterized this emerging technology in an aphorism, as it's described, which really talks about what I've experienced, and I'm sure what other people may have experienced in emerging technologies.

In 2002, the Technology and Economic Assessment Panel's Task Force on Destruction Technologies identified 29 emerging technologies that, while theoretically efficacious, had been screened out of the list of approved technologies because they had not demonstrated evidence of technical capability.

Effective harnessing of existing and emerging technologies, will both reduce costs of, and increase the likelihood of achieving the MDGs.

In their 2002 report, the Technology and Economic Assessment Panel's Task Force on Destruction Technologies identified a number of emerging technologies that, while theoretically efficacious, had not demonstrated evidence of technical capability.

The Meeting had before it the draft report on new and emerging technologies, applications and initiatives for space related inter agency cooperation.

(c) Consideration of matters to be included in a report on the new and emerging space related technologies for inter agency cooperation

Effective harnessing of existing and emerging technologies will both reduce the costs of and increase the likelihood of achieving the Millennium Development Goals.

Decision XVI 15 requested the initial co chairs of the Destruction Task Force to reconvene, solicit information on those emerging technologies, and, if new information was available, to evaluate the technologies in order to consider if they warranted consideration for addition to the Parties' list of approved destruction technologies.

And this is an emerging set of technologies that use large screen displays with intelligent calculation in the background to make the invisible visible.

By decision XVI 15, the Parties called for a review of any new information on those emerging technologies in order to determine whether any of them warranted consideration for inclusion on the Parties' list of approved destruction technologies.

The components covered by this Programme thus comprise F.1.1 Emerging Technologies F.1.2 Human Security Post Crisis Rehabilitation and F.1.3 Civil Society Organizations.

Many have become major sources of knowledge and conduits for the transfer and diffusion of scientific knowledge and information, particularly in new and emerging technologies.

C. Review of the status of destruction technologies identified by the Technology and Economic Assessment Panel in its 2002 report as emerging (decision XVI 15)

Decision XVI 15 called for a review of any new information on those emerging technologies, and, if new information was available, an evaluation in order to determine whether they warranted consideration for inclusion on the Parties' list of approved destruction technologies.

Accordingly, at the Sixteenth Meeting of the Parties a request had been made for a review of those emerging technologies to determine whether, three years later, some of them warranted consideration for addition to the list of approved destruction technologies.

Item 3 (b) Review of the status of destruction technologies identified by the Technology and Economic Assessment Panel in its 2002 report as emerging (decision XVI 15)

There are emerging technologies throughout the field around oceanography, which we will incorporate into oceanography, and through that convergence, we will transform oceanography into something even more magical.

Just keep in mind that acquiring preemptive knowledge about emerging technologies is the best way to ensure that we have a say in the making of our future.

In addition to the technology related services provided under this service module, UNIDO recently established an Emerging Technologies Group (ETG) to oversee the Organization's programme of assistance to client countries in the areas of information and communication technology (ICT), biotechnology and hydrogen energy technologies.

Technical and financial implications of the environmentally sound destruction of ozone depleting substances In 2002, the Technology and Economic Assessment Panel's Task Force on Destruction Technologies identified a number of emerging technologies that, while theoretically effective, had not yet demonstrated evidence of technical capability.

At the twenty fifth meeting of the Open ended Working Group, the Parties heard the Panel's conclusion that none of the technologies that had been categorized as emerging had as yet met the recommended technical capability criteria to warrant their being listed as approved destruction technologies.

UNIDO will work closely in forging partnerships with client countries, the private sector and other strategic partners to ensure that the benefits of emerging technologies are made available to them.

Recognizing further the vital role of new and emerging technologies in raising the productivity and competitiveness of nations and the need, inter alia, for capacity building, measures promoting the transfer and diffusion of technologies to developing countries, and the promotion of private sector activities and public awareness of science and technology,

With regard to the destruction of ozone depleting substances, TEAP had referred to the 2002 report of the task force on destruction technologies and the mandate of decision XVI 15 of the report to the twenty fifth Open ended Working Group meeting on whether any of the technologies that were designated as emerging in that report might now be ready for inclusion in the list of approved destruction technologies.

We focus primarily on the planet's environment, but we also address issues of global development, international conflict, responsible use of emerging technologies, even the rise of the so called Second Superpower and much, much more.

(c) Conducting three policy reviews as background for the workshops, analysing the role of science, technology and innovation in national development and the role of new and emerging technologies in meeting the Millennium Development Goals.

To call on the international community to promote the transfer of technologies on preferential terms, including new and emerging technologies to adopt policies and programmes with a view to assisting developing countries take advantage of technology in their pursuit of development, through inter alia, technical cooperation and the building of scientific and technological capacity.

Why is it that today s smaller and more educated urbanized families in emerging market economies are so much less productive than their counterparts were a half century ago in today s rich countries? Why can t today s emerging markets replicate levels of productivity that were achieved in countries with worse social indicators and much older technologies?

So, these are early examples in the lab of emerging technologies to digitize fabrication. Computers that don't control tools but computers that are tools, where the output of a program rearranges atoms as well as bits.

A delegation expressed satisfaction that the promotion of increased research through international scientific efforts, as well as adaptation of emerging technologies to local conditions, was one of the key outcomes of the United Nations Millennium Project.

These comprise special initiatives (such as emerging technologies, human security and post crisis rehabilitation, and UNIDO partnerships with civil society organizations), industrial policy and research, regional policy and field operating costs, all of which are covered by separate programmes.

A number of current technological developments offer promising steps in the right direction (for example, cogeneration of heat and power based on gas turbines and combined cycles emerging microturbine and fuel cell technologies and coal gasification to make syngas ).
