This case arises from the impounding of an aircraft by Irish authorities in compliance with a European Community (EC) regulation implementing a Security Council resolution.

This obligation has been included in draft regulation 9 of the new chapter V of the SOLAS Convention.

It further provides that the disposal of hazardous waste must take place in accordance with the conditions and standards defined in the regulation implementing the Act.

Another reason for retaining the second sentence is that containers are subject to specific regulation elsewhere in the draft.

1. Draft staff regulation 1.1 (f) essentially reproduces the substance of staff regulation 1.8 (see the ICSAB report, paras. 32, 49, 54 and 55). It is placed at the end of draft staff regulation 1.1 as it defines the scope and extent of the privileges and immunities of the United Nations that are enjoyed by staff in the interest of the Organization.

Another topic of discussion was the study of the preliminary draft law on implementing the provisions of CWC.
