While the force headquarters and the integrated support services reached operational readiness roughly on schedule, the delays described above retarded the deployment of protection and enabling forces in the seven operational sectors.

Private military and security companies offered a diverse range of services, from military advice and training to arms procurement, intelligence gathering, logistical and medical support, and combat and operational support.

1.181 The goal of the Operational Technical Services Department (OTSD) is to support the Agency's main programmes through the provision of integrated operational support services in procurement and logistics, information and communications technology (ICT), engineering and construction guided by comprehensive policies and overall strategy to achieve optimal quality and best value for money in providing humanitarian assistance to Palestine refugees.

30.37 In support of the tasks of CEB and its two high level committees, the secretariat provides support, services and information to Member States and CEB member organizations on programme and operational policy issues of system wide importance, as well as on activities and developments of inter agency concern in the areas of human resources, information and communication technology, finance, budget and support services.

Total gross expenditures under the operational budget ( 20,174,920) are similarly reduced by income ( 315,200). The resulting net requirements ( 19,859,720) are financed from the reimbursement of support costs pertaining to technical cooperation and other services.

(f) Strengthen the information technology infrastructure to support investment and operational processes

The activities for which the Office of Central Support Services is responsible fall under subprogramme 4, Support services, of programme 24, Management and support services, of the biennial programme plan for the period 2006 2007.

Measure 3.1 of the Operational Programme Health Welfare 2000 2006 of the 3rd Community Support Framework (2000 2006) is oriented towards the development of first degree social care through provision of services at a local level.

The Office is planning its investigation and working actively in developing operational support.

The MINUSTAH police component continued to provide operational support to the national police.

The operational functions of such an office should have priority over Secretariat services for the Peacebuilding Commission.

(vi) Technical and operational support for voicemail users at United Nations Headquarters and technical support for pagers and cellular phones

(b) Central support services (regular budget extrabudgetary)

In the context of Measure 3.1 of the Operational Programme Health Welfare of the 3rd Community Support Framework, Municipalities employ social scientists in order to establish a Network of Social Services, which will provide support services for the Socio Economic Integration mainly of people threatened by or suffering exclusion from the labour market as well as of people who do not have access to Services and are incapable of handling their problems.

Thus, it is recommended that the following costs, associated with contractual services, be separated from other operational expenses

It should be noted that costs for administrative and operational services (AOS) are now included in programme expenditure.
