Technical cooperation is indispensable in the common pursuit of effectively preventing and controlling corruption.

To guide it towards reform, Indonesia had also set up an anti corruption commission and was cooperating with its neighbours in preventing and combating corruption.

During the current administration, great importance has been assigned to strengthening the electronic bidding mechanism, given its importance for making bidding transparent and preventing corruption.

In this connection, reference was made to the United Nations Convention against Corruption, opened for signature in December 2003, the African Union Convention on Preventing and Combating against Corruption adopted in July 2003 and, at the subregional level, the Southern African Development Community Protocol against Corruption adopted in August 2001.

These projects focus on preventing and combating corruption, including through the development and benchmarking of comprehensive anti corruption policies the strengthening of integrity, accountability and capacity of criminal justice institutions the promotion of integrity in the public and private sectors and the prevention of laundering of the proceeds of corruption and the recovery of assets.

Algeria was preparing to incorporate the provisions of the latter Convention into its legislation, and a draft law on preventing and combating corruption would soon be submitted to legislators.

The objective of the projects for Gambia, Guinea and Sierra Leone is to build and strengthen the institutional mechanisms of those States for preventing and fighting corruption, initially through introducing new legislative tools, as well as setting up a national commission on corruption and an interministerial unit aimed at coordinating national and subregional efforts in the fight against corruption.

Burkina Faso is a party to two legally binding instruments for combating corruption on the regional and sub regional levels the African Union Convention on Preventing and Combating Terrorism of 11 July 2003 (Maputo Convention) and the ECOWAS Protocol on the Fight against Corruption, adopted at Dakar on 21 December 2001.

On 4 December 2000, the Agreement for the Creation of the Inter Ministerial Committee for Transparency and the Fight against Corruption (CITCC) was published in the Official Journal of the Federation. Its purpose is to coordinate policies and actions for preventing and combating corruption and promoting the transparency of governmental institutions.

That is that people talk about corruption, corruption.

States should consider providing for joint investigations, including through the establishment of joint anti corruption units, or within regional and international arrangements, with a view to preventing and controlling corruption cases that may be carried out in more than one State, or through the use of international transactions or banking and commercial arrangements.
