The United Nations and a number of international partners have agreed to provide technical support to help set up the key commissions to assist with the implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement.

It provides technical assistance, equipment and material support.

The peace support operation would deploy its military component to monitor and verify the Ceasefire Agreement and to support the implementation of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement.

In cooperation with the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, UNMIS initiated a technical cooperation programme to support the implementation of the human rights elements of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement.

Such support could include both technical and financial assistance.
