Based on the provisions of the Vienna Convention on Civil Liability for Nuclear Damage, Croatia has adopted, in 1998, the Law on Liability for Nuclear Damage which regulates liability in usage and management of nuclear materials.

States should develop legislative provisions concerning the civil and criminal liability of individuals and bodies corporate.

Any decision on the treatment of such contracts may, in consequence, also affect the deliberations on substantive liability provisions.

Strong support was expressed, however, for including provisions on the liability of certification authorities in the draft uniform rules.

Thus, in the light of discussions on the mandatory scope of application of the draft instrument, the substantive content of liability provisions may need to be reconsidered.
