Standards. Two standards are proposed.

Treaty bodies could only review commitments voluntarily undertaken by those who had ratified the relevant treaties, whereas an intergovernmental mechanism would address universally applicable human rights standards.

The most illustrative examples of NTBs include plant and animal health standards, food safety standards, environmental certification and other similar export quality standards.

The Principles also reflect other relevant international human rights and related standards, in particular, the Guiding Principles on Internal Displacement, the Basic Principles and Guidelines on the Right to a Remedy and Reparation for Victims of Violations of International Human Rights and Humanitarian Law, and relevant UNHCR Executive Committee Conclusions.

The OSCE addresses all anti terrorism measures and co operation in accordance with the UN Charter and the relevant provisions of international law, international standards of human rights and, where applicable, international humanitarian law.

(b) Promoting compliance with relevant international conventions and protocols against terrorism while seeking ways to safeguard the protection of human rights and to ensure adherence to the standards of international law and humanitarian law

While monitoring the implementation of Security Council resolution 1373 (2001), the Committee will bear in mind all the international best practices, codes and standards that are relevant to the implementation of resolution 1373 (2001).

International standards, including technical standards and sanitary and phytosanitary standards, can also pose an additional challenge to developing countries with regard to accessing international markets.
