Lebanon and Cameroon had also deposited their instruments of ratification of the Trafficking in Persons Protocol and the Migrants Protocol.

As at 25 April 2005, 148 States and 1 entity, the European Community, had deposited their instruments of ratification or accession.

The Conference was informed that, during the second session, Bolivia, Cameroon and Lebanon had deposited their instruments of ratification of the Convention.

Several speakers made reference to specific national, subregional and regional workshops for the ratification and implementation of the universal anti terrorism instruments.

As a result, the ratification rate of the universal instruments has risen from 60 percent three years ago to 89 percent today.

Finally, the Division provides technical assistance to requesting States for the ratification and implementation of the 13 universal instruments related to terrorism.

Noting that a growing number of States have deposited their instruments of ratification and that a significant number of States have signed the Statute,

OSCE, in close co operation with UNODC, promotes quicker implementation of this commitment, providing, upon request, assistance in ratification and implementation of these instruments.

He requested the assistance of the Consultative Process in promoting widespread ratification and implementation of ILO instruments, including the Seafarers' Identity Documents Convention (Revised).

The tools of international law such as treaties and conventions have become laws in Mozambique, after the ratification by the Parliament and thereafter, the government is to deposit the ratification instruments and to assume internationally the responsibility for its compliance.

In view of the above, States attending the Congress have been encouraged to undertake the necessary domestic measures for the deposit of instruments of ratification, acceptance or approval by signatory States and accession by non signatory States, for the above instruments.
