However, the availability of one doctor for 1,466 persons, one dentist for 29,405 people, one nurse for 3,347 and one hospital bed for 1,517 persons underlines the need for further improvement in the physical infrastructure.

To further the integration of persons with disabilities in society, Bahrain adopted a comprehensive strategy to promote the rights and equal opportunities of persons with disabilities, with special emphasis on the needs of women with disabilities.

A more coordinated response to protection and assistance for internally displaced persons could help stabilize volatile political situations and prevent further population displacement, including cross border movement.

The source further states that the detention regime of persons in pretrial detention is decided by the investigating agency which, in the case of Mr. Marynich, is the KGB.

The Committee requests the State party to provide an update of developments in this regard and to include further information on the enjoyment of rights by non citizens residing in Nigeria, in particular refugees, stateless persons, displaced persons and migrant workers, in its next periodic report.

Notes with appreciation the increased attention paid to internally displaced persons in the United Nations consolidated appeals process and encourages further efforts in this regard, in particular the inclusion of activities to address protection issues, including the protection of the human rights of internally displaced persons

The resource persons cautioned the participants against simplifying the root causes of trafficking, equating trafficking with prostitution, limiting anti trafficking measures only to women and children, equating trafficking with irregular migration, or violating the human rights of trafficked persons even further while implementing their anti trafficking interventions.

(f) Recognizing the importance of the principles and policy guidelines contained in the World Programme of Action concerning Disabled Persons and in the Standard Rules on the Equalization of Opportunities for Persons with Disabilities in influencing the promotion, formulation and evaluation of the policies, plans, programmes and actions at the national, regional and international levels to further equalize opportunities for persons with disabilities,

Taking note of the draft resolutions of the Commission for Social Development of 18 February 2005 on a comprehensive and integral international convention on protection and promotion of the rights and dignity of persons with disabilities, and on the further promotion of equalization of opportunities by, for and with persons with disabilities, and protection of the human rights of persons with disabilities,
