The Intergovernmental Committee of Experts of the Subregional Development Centres shall have the following functions

(a) Servicing of intergovernmental and expert bodies (regular budget) General Assembly substantive servicing of meetings of the Third Committee (84), the Fourth Committee (4) and the Fifth Committee (4)

59. The Committee, through its Chairman, continued to participate in relevant meetings of intergovernmental bodies, as considered necessary.

The Committee trusted that such intergovernmental reviews would become much more extensive and involve all relevant specialized bodies.

In federal systems, an intergovernmental committee should also be established with provincial state, as well as national representation.

219. The Committee viewed effective programme monitoring and evaluation as important elements in internal management and intergovernmental reviews.

15. Emphasizes the importance of the intergovernmental nature of the Committee for Programme and Coordination in discharging its functions

The Committee, through its Chairman, will continue to participate in relevant intergovernmental and other conferences and meetings, as necessary.

The Committee highly appreciates the involvement in these meetings of Governments, intergovernmental organizations, United Nations entities and civil society.
