(b) Policy and procedures manuals and other guidelines

HelpAge International supports the development of country based guidelines to roll out the policy.

They defined and monitored the policy guidelines and strategies that guided the actions undertaken.

That policy was further reviewed in 1997 and became known as the National Youth Development Policy, providing guidelines for developing and implementing programmes.

Newly issued policy and guidelines on consultancy dated 1 April 2005 are now being implemented.

The Ministry's chief mission is to design and carry out the national policy for social development, population, the advancement of women and the protection of children, following government guidelines.

To make decisions regarding the advancement of the national policy on gender equality, in the context of European Union and International Organizations guidelines, aiming at gender mainstreaming in all policies.

The commitment to achieve gender equality and justice included in the 1999 Broad Guidelines of State Policy specifically calls for the empowerment of women to achieve gender equality and justice.
